Nerf toys are one of the most well-known high performance sports action toys. The Nerf N-Strike Elite RapidStrike CS-18 Blaster is a fully automatic Nerf blaster that has received wide acclaim among enthusiasts.

The Nerf N-Strike Elite RapidStrike CS-18 Blaster has a transparent magazine that stands out as a good feature. Due to this, you know exactly how many rounds are left and you can accordingly avoid getting shot by your competitors. And with the automatic nature of the blaster, rounds finish up pretty fast. The rate of fire fast and you can fire up to four magazines without jamming. A lot of sports guns get jammed, but the CS-18 doesn’t usually get jammed. In the rare occasion that it does, you can clear it by accessing the port under the top rail.

The range of shots is decent and allows you to shoot your customers from a considerable distance. A few practice shots show that the range is at least above 60 feet. Five tactical rails are available for gripping and three attachments for a sling. Front and rear sights are available which allows the shooter to aim easily. There are no complicated assembly mechanism and CS-18 is available off the rack. However, it operates on 4C batteries. The battery removal mechanism is not simple, and you will need a small screwdriver to remove the three screws that hold the battery compartment under the barrel.

The gun is extremely well-constructed, feels good in the hand and the trigger is smooth and doesn’t require much effort. One of the most satisfying sounds is the magazine sliding securely with a positive ‘snap’ which is an indication of the good finishing in the construction. Adjustable stock is available which can reduce the length of the rifle by 3-1/4”. The construction mimics the feel of a real gun and it feels like one in the hand.

The gun works when you hold down the accelerator button with the middle finger and then firing with the finger on the trigger. Both automatic and semi-automatic modes are available in CS-18. However, darts are quickly finished in the automatic mode, and semi-automatic mode is suitable if you don’t want to fire indiscriminately and want to conserve darts. The magazine change mechanism is very smooth and can be done with one hand by pressing the button just ahead of the ‘accelerator’ button.

A lot of people want to know whether the darts hurt. The simplest answer is it stings a little momentarily after being shot, but there is no permanent pain or even for a significantly long duration. You may want to get out of the line of fire if you are getting shot one after another though. One of the problems with this gun is the battery as not many other electronic items use this and you will have to get batteries especially for this gun. Though the construction is strong, sometimes it may jam and hence the users must be careful while handling it. You must make sure that the darts are straight and properly aligned. Otherwise there is every chance that the gun is jammed. Though this gun is rapid fire, it is only decent in accuracy. It is great for aggressive shooting, but not for accurate targeting. Another negative about this gun is it is very loud. Though not enough to hurt your ears, it is still an inconvenience. Darts also get exhausted very soon and it is advisable to carry extra darts so that you are not left hanging in the middle of the game. Overall, this is one of the best sports guns.
